Roblox paid out over $1.5 billion to developers in 2025, and with 144 million daily active users on the platform, the creator economy is only getting bigger. Whether you’re building your first obby or scaling a simulator with millions of visits, understanding your potential revenue helps you set realistic goals and plan your development roadmap.
This page gives you three calculators to estimate your game earnings, convert Robux to USD through DevEx, and project your revenue growth over time. Every calculation uses the current official DevEx rate of $0.0035 per Robux.

Estimated Revenue
The calculator accounts for the 30% marketplace fee Roblox takes from every transaction. So if your players spend 1,000 Robux in your game, you actually receive 700 Robux. That 700 Robux then converts to USD through DevEx at the $0.0035 rate.

Minimum DevEx threshold: 30,000 earned Robux. Rate: $0.0035 per Robux. Only earned Robux qualifies — purchased Robux cannot be cashed out.
Keep in mind that DevEx payouts are processed through Tipalti and typically take 2 to 4 weeks after submission. You’ll also need a verified email, Roblox Premium, and valid tax documentation (W-9 for US, W-8 for international) to qualify.
How Do You Compare?
Roblox developer earnings follow a steep power curve. A small number of top games generate the majority of platform revenue, while most developers earn modest amounts. Here’s how the tiers break down based on annual DevEx income.
Developer Earning Tiers (2026)
Use the Earnings Estimator above to see which tier you fall into.
The vast majority of Roblox developers fall in the Average or Starter tier. Breaking into the Top 25% typically requires consistent daily active users above 5,000 and a well-tuned monetization setup with game passes, developer products, and premium payouts.

Understanding Roblox Revenue Sharing
Roblox’s revenue model is built around a marketplace fee system that every developer needs to understand before projecting earnings. Here’s how the money actually flows from player wallets to your bank account.
The 70/30 Split
When a player makes any purchase in your game — whether it’s a game pass, developer product, or in-experience item — Roblox takes a 30% marketplace fee off the top. You keep the remaining 70% as earned Robux. This applies to every transaction type on the platform.
For example, if a player buys a 1,000 Robux game pass in your experience, you receive 700 Robux. That 30% covers Roblox’s platform costs including servers, moderation, payment processing, and the Roblox client itself. Compared to Steam’s 30% cut or Apple’s 30% App Store fee, it’s an industry-standard rate.
DevEx Requirements and Rates
The Developer Exchange (DevEx) program is the only official way to convert earned Robux into real money. The current rate is $0.0035 per Robux, and you need to meet several requirements:
- 30,000 earned Robux minimum in your account
- Age 13+ with verified email and Roblox Premium
- Good standing with Terms of Use and Community Standards
- Tax documentation — W-9 (US) or W-8 (international) on file
- Payouts processed through Tipalti in 2-4 weeks
Only Robux you earned through game monetization counts toward DevEx. Purchased Robux, group payouts from non-earned sources, and promotional credits are all excluded. Use our Robux Calculator to see what purchased Robux costs versus what earned Robux pays out — the difference is significant.
Premium Payouts
On top of the standard marketplace revenue, Roblox distributes Premium Payouts to developers whose games attract Roblox Premium subscribers. This is a separate revenue stream based on how much engagement time Premium members spend in your game compared to the platform average.
Premium Payouts can add 10-30% on top of your regular Robux earnings depending on your player demographics. Games that attract older players (who are more likely to have Premium) tend to benefit most from this system.
Tips to Maximize Earnings
The developers who earn the most on Roblox consistently do four things:
- Optimize conversion rate — Offer compelling game passes at multiple price points. A cheap entry pass (100-200 Robux) gets players used to spending, while premium passes (1,000-5,000 Robux) capture high-value players.
- Increase session frequency — Daily rewards, limited-time events, and trading systems bring players back multiple times a day. Going from 1 to 2 daily sessions literally doubles your revenue.
- Scale DAU aggressively — YouTube content, Roblox search optimization, and Discord communities are the biggest DAU growth drivers. Our guide on how to make a popular Roblox game covers proven strategies.
- Diversify revenue streams — Don’t rely on a single game pass. Combine developer products (consumables), multiple game passes, premium payouts, and limited-edition items for maximum revenue per player.

Growth Projection
| Timeframe | Projected DAU | Est. Monthly Robux | Est. Monthly USD |
|---|---|---|---|
| Now | 1,000 | 126,000 | $441 |
| 3 Months | 1,331 | 167,706 | $587 |
| 6 Months | 1,772 | 223,272 | $781 |
| 12 Months | 3,138 | 395,388 | $1,384 |
Assumes 3% conversion rate, 200 Robux average purchase, and 30% Roblox cut. Adjust the Earnings Estimator above for different base assumptions.
Compound growth is powerful on Roblox. Even a modest 10% monthly DAU increase turns a $441/month game into a $1,384/month game within a year. The key is consistency — regular content updates, events, and community engagement keep that growth rate steady.
